Planning FAQs
What is so special about the Arena Mark II LED lighting?
The Arena Mark II LED light sources employ the highest level specifications in terms of ultra-high color rendering index (CRI), lumens (brightness), and color temperature (ambiance). Only the Arena Mark II with its ClearCut lighting/lensing specification, produces the perfect blend of focused intensity that far exceeds WPA minimum requirements and renders a level of clarity and definition unmatched by any alternative cheap lighting.
The “Pro” and “League” edition Arena Mark II models provide the ideal quality of light for competitive billiard playing. The “Elite” edition models achieve this as well as give the power to tune the ambience/mood to your exact preference, from a warm color temperature of 3000K to an extremely cool 6000K.
What size Arena Mark II should I buy and what are the exact dimensions of the fixture?
For the best lighting experience, you should purchase the fixture that matches the size billiard table that you own. We have Arena Mark II “Pro” and “Elite” editions for 7’, 8’, 9’, 10’, and 12’ tables. For 7’ pool tables, we have the “League” edition that packs the same amount of light into a minimal form factor.
Downloadable PDFs of wiring diagrams contain the exact dimensions of the available fixtures and include information about the location of power lines.
My ceiling is unique, can the light be mounted to my ceiling?
The Arena Mark II is easy to mount and suspend to the perfect height from any type of ceiling - including uneven, vaulted, and unpredictable surfaces. The flexible platform allows nearly all positions on the perimeter of the fixture to be used as a secure mount point making it simple to hang even under uneven ceilings. It comes complete with suspension cables, ceiling mount couplers, and height adjustment brackets that allow you to fine-tune and level your fixture in minutes once your mount-points are established.
How high above the table should I suspend the fixture?
In order to accommodate all elevated (vertical) cueing postures at tournament events, setting the (Pro and Elite edition) fixture at 5’ above the top of the table is ideal (however not mandatory). For streaming or special presentation purposes, Arena Mark II fixtures can be set even as high as 10'-12’ from the floor.
League edition Arena Mark II fixtures are designed to be suspended at 7’-8’ from the floor.
Due to its low-profile, Arena Mark II fixtures can accommodate ceilings as low as 6.5’ - 7’.
What is required to power the Arena installation?
Simply put, the Arena Mark II was designed to be powered by a standard AC line 110v-277v 50/60Hz power.
The fixture comes out of the box with a black 6’ cable with a 3-prong AC power plug specific to your region (e.g. Type-B, Type-F, etc). If you do not have an outlet on the ceiling, you can purchase power cables with open-end (pigtails) to wire directly into a junction box. These cords are available, as separate accessories, in varying lengths and colors to match your ceiling installation.
The most common scenario is to have a wall-situated AC on/off switch connected to a ceiling-positioned junction box.
For aesthetic purposes, the junction box should be ideally be located above the left side of the short-end of the billiard table. You can refer to the (size-appropriate) wiring diagrams available.
